Biosecurity NZ (MPI) has released an “Advisory to Industry” in relation to the new Import Health Standard for Vehicles, Machinery and Parts.

The key points in this are:

  • 16 more countries added to the schedule of BMSB risk countries bringing the total to 33.
  • All vehicles, machinery, parts (break-bulk cargo) and containers must be treated off-shore before arrival in NZ.
  • All treatment must be carried out by an MPI approved “Offshore Treatment Provider”

NZTA will then check if they can source and enter the data for you, so that you can proceed with certification.
